As one of Silk's earliest contributors, not to mention countless classic contributions to Anjunadeep and his own resident label, Intricate, Russian virtuoso PROFF needs little introduction. We're thrilled to feature him on our parent label for the first time this year with the deep house influenced "Joy Is Pain." The track derives its name from a dubby male vocal refrain, in which a variety of opposing concepts are juxtaposed, culminating in the titular phrase. Meanwhile, a classic deep groove, coupled with a hypnotic, subterranean atmosphere, give the dancefloor a steady bump. As the track progresses, a variety of pad layers begin to crescendo. In the main break, these pads share the stage with glorious orchestral strings, all of which coalesce to create a breathtaking soundscape.
